DIY Pencil Case

This DIY seems a little complicated at first,
but the faux suede corners look really cute,
so it's worth putting in the extra effort to make them.

You are going to need:
- 2 pieces of fabric for the outside (20cm by 10cm)
-2 pieces of lining fabric (20cm by 10cm)
-A zip (18cm or 20cm)
-2 faux suede quarter circles (with a radius of about 5cm,
the easiest way to do this is with a pair of compasses)

Stack up a lining piece, an outside piece and the zip in this order:
zip, with zipper face up;
outside piece, with the nicer side face down;
 and lining piece, nicer side up.
Make sure the long edge of each piece is in line,
 then pin the layers together and sew (as shown with the red line)

Then you fold the fabric back on itself along the seam you have just made.
Pin and sew neatly again along the pins (shown with a blue line)

A tip is to sew it with the zip open,
and then zip it up when you get near the slider to avoid a crooked seam.

Do the same with the other side so it looks like this:

Next, sew on the suede corners. Cut little triangles out like this:

Then pin it to a corner carefully, making sure the curve is even.
Then sew it to the fabric- this is definitely a bit tricky,
so take your time, and sew it by hand.

Do the same with the other piece, so it looks like this:

Unzip the zip and then fold the two sides together,
(so in my case the blue polka- dots are on the outside and the zip is on the fold line,)
 and then sew the three sides without the zip up,
making sure to sew through ALL the layers including the faux suede.
Then turn it inside out, and push out the corners.

And you are done! :)
